Rahul to visit Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose-era army memorial on his Singapore tour

Congress president Rahul Gandhi will visit Indian Army Memorial marker in Singapore. The Gandhi scion will be paying his respects while on a three-day tour of South East Asian countries beginning from March 8.

Freedom fighter Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose had laid the foundation stone of a memorial dedicated to soldiers of Azad Hind Fauj in July 1945. The present-day marker sits on the site of the original memorial.

Apart from visiting this memorial, Gandhi scion will interact with war veterans. In his two-day tour of Singapore, Gandhi will hold close door meetings with government officials and business entrepreneurs.

He will also have meetings with Indian professionals.

The Congress chief will also address the Indian diaspora in Singapore before heading to Malaysia on March 10.

In Malaysia, he will interact not just with businessmen but also Indian workers. He will address an NRIs gathering before heading to Delhi.

Gandhi had visited Bahrain this year where he had interacted with Government ministers and officials; business community members and NRIs.

The entire exercise is part of Congress outreach program rolled out by the overseas wing of Congress headed by Sam Pitroda.
